Charity Shop Cool

I was really excited to see the brand new store from Royal Trinity Hospice on Northcote Road in Clapham Junction, it opened on the 3rd June. The store has clearly taking inspiration from retailers like & Other Stories and Urban Outfitters both shops I love

IKEA – Art event 2017

On my most recent trip to IKEA (I go there a lot!) I discovered they have a pop up art exhibition in store. The exhibition is a limited collection of posters featuring 12 internationally known artists. This idea cleverly builds on their brand vision by making art affordable and accessible. The exhibition is located within the frames section, designed…

Christmas 2016 – the bold, the quirky and the furry

Sorry I’m a bit late getting this post out, it’s been a busy year so far. I always like to get out and see what brands are doing at Christmas, for 2016 I wasn’t disappointed and managed to get to see some great campaigns. Although it did feel like we’d just starting to get festive in…

Social Shopping

I’ve noticed more and more brands utilising social media in retail, as part or a whole campaign. There’s been a shift in influence in fashion, with shoppers being inspired and persuaded more and more by bloggers (I’ve a few favourites I follow), pinterest and instagram. It’s the unique personal perspective given to the consumer which is…

Say Hello ‘Hej’ to beautiful stationery

I was excited to discover the that the Swedish inspired stationery brand ‘Kikki K‘ has arrived in the UK. I first experienced this shop in Melbourne, Australia, where the brand originated. ‘Through beautiful Swedish design, we will inspire & empower people the world over, to live their best life, every day. DREAM. DO. ENJOY.’ Their pop up store in Kingston did…

The very best of Waitrose

The launch campaign for the rebranded Waitrose premium range has great cut through in store. The new positioning ‘The very best of Waitrose’ and name ‘Waitrose 1’ is confident and packaging is simple and pared back with on trend whimsical black and white illustrations. The campaign works really well to showcase the rebranded range, it grabs you as soon as you walk in the…

Cool to be square

I’m a big fan of Anya Hindmarch’s iconic graphic bags and would love to own one. I was very excited to visit her store at Westfield in London. Her current campaign ‘Cool to be Square‘ did not disappoint with striking graphic window perfectly showcasing her latest collection. Unfortunately I left the store without one of…

Bison Beer

This brand has bottle loads of personality. Discovered by chance in Brighton, the Bison Craft Beer Shop is a total experience. Everything has been thought through really well, with authentic wooden fixturing, hand drawn blackboard  signage and their iconic bottles lined up to create a feature. The logo is really distinctive using a quirky Bison illustration…

January Sales 2016

It seems that the sales come earlier and earlier each year so by the time I got out to the sales there was not a lot left and most shops were in further reductions. There were a few brands that brought out their regular sale graphics like ZARA and Topshop. Most used the classic sale red…

Let’s get cracking

I haven’t really had the chance to see all the high street Christmas windows this year, but this one from White Stuff stood out for me. ‘Let’s get cracking‘ is a really fun campaign with brightly coloured, glittery drummers made from crackers each wearing an animated moustache.  Gift sets are cleverly displayed on their drums.

Inspiration is everywhere

Sorry for the delay on this post I’ve had a busy few weeks. This Aldo window caught my eye a couple of months ago. Aldo always have simple, bold iconic window campaigns and this is no exception. The top showcases the boot on a vibrant rainbow background and the bottom compliments the product with a styled model. Perfectly showcasing their campaign ‘Inspiration is…

Hot stuff – from Lush

Lush is a shop which is hard to walk past without noticing, you’re usually hit with a strong fragrance. I always love their windows as they are usually very bright and graphic (my favourite kind). The window is simple and bold, with the attention grabbing headline ‘Looking for some hot stuff’.  Complimented by the packaging which is quirky and kitsch, I…
