On my most recent trip to IKEA (I go there a lot!) I discovered they have a pop up art exhibition in store. The exhibition is a limited collection of posters featuring 12 internationally known artists. This idea cleverly builds on their brand vision by making art affordable and accessible.
The exhibition is located within the frames section, designed with simple blackboards covered in sketchy doodles to give it an inspiring and exciting vibe. To add theatre and make the area feel like an event, champagne bottles and glasses are displayed and in true IKEA style the frames merchandised within the display.
Each poster is packaged in a tube with bold event graphics to give it that exclusive feel. The posters are only available for a limited time so I made sure I got my hands on one. I have the kooky illustration of the shelf man from Jean Jullien, which is now hanging in my spare room.
